How the Route Survey Report β€” master Is Built

How the master route survey report is assembled from your map: sections, POI types, badges, turns and special manoeuvres, photos, branding, and where every generated report is saved and reloaded.

The Route Survey Report β€” master is assembled entirely from what is on your map. This guide is the same one opened by the How to button in the Reports Hub: the sections table and the POI-types table below are generated from the report's own section registry and POI type registry, so they stay current as new sections and types are added.

Chapter 01

What the report is and the flow

The Route Survey Report β€” master is the full multi-corridor survey document built from what is on your map.

The master report is an interactive HTML document (also issued as a PDF) that turns the routes, POIs, photos, notes and measurements of one map into a professional route survey. Nothing is typed twice: every table, verdict and photo comes from the map, so the way to change the report is to change the map.

  1. Pick routes β€” choose the corridor(s) or legs the report covers. Only POIs on those routes (auto-assigned or manually linked) are read.
  2. Set load / vehicle β€” confirm the transport configuration (Vehicles & Loads). Every PASS / MARGINAL / FAIL verdict compares a POI measurement to these dimensions.
  3. Choose sections β€” tick the chapters you want; untouched toggles use the registry default.
  4. Review POIs β€” the Review step lists every POI occurrence and photo; untick anything that must not appear.
  5. Narrative review β€” read, edit or accept the narrative and its Conclusion conditions.
  6. Generate β€” the report is rendered and saved as a report record (see chapter 8).
  7. Issue as PDF / Open in Viewer / Copy link β€” from the Hub footer once generation completes.
Rule of thumb

If something is missing from the report, it is missing (or excluded) on the map: wrong POI type, missing measurement, no photo, POI off the selected route, or a section toggle turned off.

Do this on the map
  • The routes you want are visible and selected in the Hub.
  • A transport configuration is confirmed for this map.
  • POIs sit on (within 500 m of) the route they belong to, or are manually linked to it.

In short

  • Flow β€” pick routes β†’ set load/vehicle β†’ choose sections β†’ review POIs β†’ narrative review β†’ generate β†’ Issue as PDF / Open in Viewer / Copy link.
  • Sections β€” every chapter is data-driven; an enabled chapter with no data is skipped, never printed empty.
  • POI types β€” the type sets the taxonomy category, which decides the report sections and the measurements needed; a missing measurement reads NOT EVALUATED, never 0.
  • Badges β€” Danger, Work required, Important and Restriction change emphasis, counts and (for Restriction) governing constraints.
  • Turns & special manoeuvres β€” numbered Turn POIs (unique, auto-resequenced, numbers never reused) and lettered Special Manoeuvres build the Turn-by-Turn chapter and driving directions.
  • Saved reports β€” every generated report is a record under the map's Files β€Ί Reports and in Profile β€Ί Reports, with Edit & regenerate, Regenerate with current data, revision history and a shareable viewer link.
