This Week's Lead

RTK that connects, reports you can verify, and a new face on the team.

It's been longer than a week since Issue #02 β€” fair to call that out. Equipment sales have been strong, and every new kit out the door means real training time with the crew running it. On top of that, we're deep in prep for Breakbulk Americas (Sept 22–23, Houston, Booth M01) β€” including a new Convoy Guardian we want to unveil there, and a shot at bringing a working prototype of a new 360Β° LiDAR clearance scanner (more on that below, in On the Bench). All of it worth the wait. Here's what shipped: ProfilingPRO gets RTK, auto-discovery, and bathymetry. MeasurePRO auto-connects. RoadScope ships signed, verifiable reports. Plus the SolTecONE beta, SweptPRO's drone module, and a new face on the team.

SolTec InnovationWelcome to the team

Tristan is joining SolTec Innovation.

Tristan brings over 25 years in the industry across survey, OS/OW routing, dispatching, and regulatory work β€” including nearly 10 years building a specialized pilot car fleet at ODS Fleet. He's joining us part-time, splitting his time between his own fleet and helping us on technical support, development, and R&D. That kind of field-tested judgment is hard to find, and it's going to make a real difference across the board.

Field NotesThe Question We're Asking

Who's going to be first to run dispatch on AI β€” because there's no one left to hire?

Every carrier we talk to has the same problem: dispatchers are aging out or moving on, and the seat is brutally hard to fill. It's not a job you can post and backfill in two weeks β€” it takes years to build the judgment a good dispatcher carries in their head. That gap is exactly why we built Max Load to write, not just answer questions, and why SolTecONE's dispatch board is built to run itself where it can. We're not claiming AI replaces that judgment yet. But somebody's fleet is going to be the first to run a shift with AI doing the first pass and a human doing the exceptions β€” and we think it's closer than most people in this industry expect. Curious where you land on this β€” tell us.

ProfilingPROv4.16.1 Β· August 14, 2026

RTK that actually connects. Survey-grade, no fuss.

ProfilingPRO now auto-discovers and auto-connects to your GNSS receiver β€” no more hunting for the right port. RTK correction over NTRIP is fully working, including Skylark and other providers, and PPP is now easier to reach for when you don't need real-time RTK but still want correction applied.

What's new:

  • Auto-discovery and auto-connect for your GNSS receiver β€” no more hunting for the right port
  • RTK correction over NTRIP fully working, including Skylark and other providers; PPP easier to reach when real-time RTK isn't needed
  • Bathymetric functions, better turning radius detection, and a HUD-style map driving mode built for the cab
  • Capture settings tuned to how you're actually driving β€” slow and detailed enough to catch a railway crossing bump, or fast and grade-only when that's all the segment needs
ProfilingPROFrom the Field

255 km, tens of thousands of points, one clean profile.

We ran ProfilingPRO's new capture pipeline as a real stress test on a 255 km route β€” tens of thousands of points, built into a single clean vertical profile. It caught every grade over 12%, every curve with a radius under 65 m, and β€” the one that mattered most β€” exactly how many times a wind blade's overhang would need to cross into the oncoming lane along the way. The convoy knew every risk point before the wheels ever turned, with time to plan around it instead of reacting to it.

MeasurePROv16.4.0 shipped Β· 16.5.0-beta in testing

Shipped now, and a big auto-connect release in testing.

Live now in 16.4.0: you can survey against a previous survey β€” import a RoadScope export and the app calls out what's coming, "Wire in 200 m, at book 5.33 m," and flags anything you've exceeded without logging it. The warning distance follows your speed. And paid features are visible instead of hidden β€” modules you haven't purchased still show up in the column, with a plain explanation of what add-on unlocks them.

What's new:

  • In testing (16.5.0-beta β€” not yet released): the Duro receiver connects reliably from the desktop app, auto-reconnects if a cable moves, and finds itself on the network with no IP address to type in
  • Laser and GPS auto-connect too β€” the screen just tells you which port answered and at what speed
  • Settings open in their own window so your map and camera stay visible; every tool lives in one Windows menu bar; a setting changed in one place now applies everywhere β€” hardware, GNSS, map, and voice pages
  • The voice confidence slider is now wired to the recognition engine for the first time β€” raising it in a noisy cab finally does something
  • On RoadScope sync, you'll see exactly which company a survey is heading to, pick one when there's more than one, and get a clear warning when there isn't β€” the usual cause of a "synced" survey nobody can find
RoadScope~400 changes Β· last twelve days

Reports you can actually trust.

Roughly 400 changes shipped on RoadScope over the last twelve days. The thread connecting the biggest ones: better data in, better images captured, and a report at the end you and your client can actually verify. Every RoadScope PDF is now digitally signed with a QR code linking to a public /verify page, carries a stable revision history, and is built by a three-layer narrative engine that checks every number against its source before the report ever goes out β€” with a "Derived Findings" layer that shows its evidence trail, and jurisdiction packs (QC/ON/MN/US) with high-voltage rules baked in. Report images can now be captured in one batch across an entire multi-segment route, with a retake editor so one bad frame doesn't mean redoing the whole set.

What's new:

  • ProfilingPRO's vertical road profile is now a first-class citizen inside RoadScope β€” raw NMEA GNSS log import, combined profile Γ— swept-path analysis, breakover detection, and exports to CSV, PDF, GeoJSON, LandXML, and DXF
  • Max Load, the AI agent, can now write β€” creating routes and POIs, controlling the map, and running full workflows like reports and Route Watch on its own, with undo on any bulk change
  • Also on the bench: an open connector so you can work your own RoadScope data from whichever AI assistant you already use β€” no need to open RoadScope at all. Same idea extends both ways: pull in data from other apps and external sources into RoadScope, not just push out. The goal is the data stays yours, and it goes wherever your workflow already lives.
SolTec EcosystemOne Route. One Truth.

Nobody else connects it all β€” one live ecosystem

Measure it. Map it. Move it. Prove it. Every SolTec product feeds the same live picture of the route, so the numbers your crew captures are the numbers your client verifies.

What's new:

  • Measure It. β€” MeasurePRO Β· ProfilingPRO
  • Map It. β€” RoadScope Β· SweptPRO Β· LoadPRO
  • Move It. β€” NAV Β· Convoy Guardian
  • Prove It. β€” Reports Β· Permits
SolTecONEOpening to beta Β· 2–3 selected testers

The operational core of oversized transport.

SolTecONE connects your data and teams β€” from logbook to delivery β€” including quotes, permits, load planning, dispatch, HR, maintenance, customs, and compliance. It's not a permitting tool (that's what Nova Permits is for) β€” it's the system that makes sure the request is right before it gets there, and carries the move afterward. Live fleet positions from Samsara feed the dispatch map automatically, every tenant is hard-isolated at the database level, and licensing runs module by module with no forced-update walls β€” an operator clearing a permit at 5 a.m. never gets locked out mid-shift. We're opening this up carefully β€” 2 to 3 selected beta testers, with hands-on setup support, before we open it wider. If that's you, get in touch.

What's new:

  • Quote It. β€” Submissions Β· Pricing
  • Plan It. β€” Permits Β· Loads
  • Run It. β€” Dispatch Β· Fleet
  • Bill It. β€” Billing Β· Customs
SweptPRODrone module

Simulate on this week's drone footage β€” not 2019 satellite imagery.

SweptPRO answers the question that costs the most when you get it wrong on the road: does it fit in this turn? Draw your route on a satellite basemap, describe your convoy axle by axle, and watch the real swept envelope trace every turn, roundabout, and site entry β€” no engineer with a tape measure, no AutoTURN seat at $3,000–$8,000 a year.

What's new:

  • The differentiator: the drone module reads your own DJI site photos β€” plug it in by USB, and SweptPRO pulls the EXIF/XMP data, calculates ground resolution, and projects your own georeferenced imagery under the simulation
  • You're simulating on this week's orthophoto of the actual site, not a five-year-old satellite tile
  • Convoys are built from real data β€” axle groups, wheelbase, per-pivot articulation limits β€” up to dual-lane 8- and 16-tire configurations and SPMT/Goldhofer hydraulics, not a disguised semi-trailer template
  • On the Thacker Pass corridor, SweptPRO cleared all 299 intersections for a 20-foot-wide, 14'5" load before the convoy ever rolled. Zero collisions on the move.
LoadPROIn development

SweptPRO's geometry needed a partner for the masses.

LoadPRO is the axle load calculator for OS/OW convoys β€” describe your trailer (tare weight, center of gravity, axle groups, hitch positions), place your load, and get the real axle-by-axle distribution, checked against jurisdiction limits. It's the natural complement to SweptPRO: geometry on one side, mass on the other β€” and its output is exactly what Dispatch and RoadScope need to build a permit.

MapPRO LightLive now Β· free

A free map for anyone. No account, no login.

MapPRO Light is live at roadscope.app/map β€” a free, no-login map for anyone who needs to search an address, get A-to-B directions, or drop a few pins. Up to 30 POIs and 20 drawn routes, satellite and traffic layers, full Street View, and exports to KML, KMZ, GPX, and GeoJSON. Nothing touches our servers β€” everything lives in your browser. It's a genuinely useful free tool on its own, and it's also the front door to Map Pro: premium modules like SweptPRO, LoadPRO, ProfilingPRO, and RailPRO integration are visible in the sidebar, with a clear path to unlock them when you need more than 30 pins.

Quick Tip of the Week

Tune the laser right from MeasurePRO β€” no more Putty

MeasurePRO now lets you tune the laser itself right from the app β€” no more opening Putty to read or change its settings. With this new configuration panel, 98% of wire misses are now caught, and precision on smaller targets is noticeably better. Combined with the new auto-scan and auto-connect for GPS and laser, getting a kit field-ready is faster than it's ever been.

On the Bench β€” RoadScope Β· next 30 days

  • SoonA 360Β° LiDAR rig that reads clearances like a rail profile β€” mounted on the front of the truck, the scanner sweeps a full circle at each point along the route, producing a single elevation "cut" of the space at that exact spot; string those cuts together and you get a continuous profile of everything around the corridor, the same logic rail uses for clearance checks, applied to the road
  • SoonThe same thing in reverse for the equipment: draw the rear silhouette of the convoy and its load as an envelope connecting every point farthest from center. Overlay the two cuts, and you see immediately, at every point on the route, exactly where it wouldn't fit β€” no point-cloud processing marathon, just a fast cut-to-cut comparison
  • SoonEvery cross-section carries its own image and, where a 360Β° camera was running at capture, its own position in a custom Street View-style viewer β€” a problem spot isn't just a number, it's a place you can click straight to on the RoadScope map. This is the missing piece for the combined horizontal + vertical clearance verdict we've been building toward all year β€” and we're pushing hard to have a working prototype ready for Breakbulk Americas (Booth M01)

Questions, bugs, or something you want to see next week β€” just reply to the email edition. And if you're heading to Breakbulk Americas in September, come find us at Booth M01.

Issue NΒΊ 02May 18, 2026Open this issue

This Week's Lead

From Field to Office in Real-Time.

MeasurePRO v16.1.102 closes the loop between the truck and the desk. The moment the field crew creates a survey, it appears on the planner's RoadScope map β€” no manual export, no waiting for a USB stick, no "send me the file when you get back." Inside this issue: the v16.1.102 RoadScope Sync workflow (Local Only, New Map, or attach to an Existing Map), how the office sees POIs land on the right route in real time, the Route Intelligence paywall going live for foreign POI detail, POI Discovery from external sources, the self-healing Field App PWA, and a preview of "Ask the Data" β€” the natural-language query engine that's next on the bench.

MeasurePROv16.1.102 Β· May 18, 2026

RoadScope Sync at survey creation β€” pick your destination before the first POI is captured

v16.1.102 moves the RoadScope decision to the very first screen: the moment a surveyor creates a survey, MeasurePRO asks where the data should go. Local Only keeps the survey on-device. New RoadScope Map creates a fresh map in RoadScope and links it to this survey. Existing Map attaches the survey to a map the office has already set up. From that point on, every POI flows back to the chosen map automatically β€” the office sees the route fill in as the crew drives it.

What's new:

  • RoadScope Sync prompt on every new survey β€” Local Only / New RoadScope Map / Existing Map, picked once, remembered for the duration of the survey
  • Sign-In from Sync Banner β€” if the field user isn't signed in yet, the sync banner now opens the sign-in flow inline instead of bouncing back to Settings
  • Loading Spinner Fix β€” the spinner that occasionally got stuck after a long sync no longer hangs; the UI returns to ready state as soon as the last part is uploaded
  • Backwards-compatible with v16.1.101 surveys β€” existing Local Only surveys can be promoted to a RoadScope map at any time from the Sync panel
RoadScopePOIs on Routes Β· shipped

Every POI knows which route it belongs to β€” automatically

Before v16.1.102, the office had to manually decide which incoming POIs belonged to which planned route. Now the assignment happens automatically. When MeasurePRO pushes POIs in, RoadScope resolves each one against the active route set: explicit field-side assignments are honored first; everything else is matched by spatial buffer against the closest route in the map. The result is that the Routes tab in MapPro always shows the right POI count per route, the Driver Briefing pulls the right hazards, and the elevation profile aligns the POIs with the correct corridor β€” no manual sorting required.

What's new:

  • Auto-assigns synced POIs to the correct route on the map
  • Honors explicit field-side route tags when MeasurePRO provides them
  • Falls back to a spatial buffer match against the closest route for everything else
  • Per-route POI counts, hazards, and badges in the Routes tab update live as POIs sync in
RoadScopeRoute Intelligence Β· shipped

Foreign POI detail data β€” measurements, clearances, condition β€” unlocked on demand

Route Intelligence is the paywall that gates detail data on POIs that came from external Route Intelligence sources (not from your own crew). Foreign POIs appear on the map for free with basic context. The detail layer β€” measurements, clearances, condition β€” is unlocked per POI with credits, or unlimited on an RI subscription. Credits never expire, unlocks are permanent on your workspace, and the audit trail of every unlock is visible to the workspace owner.

What's new:

  • Credit-based unlocks per foreign POI, or unlimited on an RI subscription
  • Permanent unlock on your workspace β€” buy once, every teammate sees the detail
  • No external source names exposed anywhere in the UI β€” all foreign data is labeled "external Route Intelligence sources"
  • Unlock history and credit ledger visible at /ri-data
RoadScopePOI Discovery Β· shipped

Find every POI along a corridor before you survey it

POI Discovery (Tools β†’ POI Discovery) sweeps the corridor of any route in your project and surfaces every POI the platform already knows about β€” your own crew's captures, your company's captures on other projects, and POIs from external Route Intelligence sources. Pick the ones that matter and import them into the active map in one click. The planner walks into the first day of survey planning with the bridge list, culvert list, and intersection list already on the map.

What's new:

  • Search a route corridor end-to-end with a configurable buffer
  • Filter by POI type, owner (yours / your company / external Route Intelligence sources), and risk badge
  • Import selected POIs into the active map without leaving MapPro
  • Respects Route Intelligence paywall β€” foreign detail data still requires an unlock
RoadScopeField App PWA Β· shipped

Installable, offline-capable field shell at /fieldapp β€” survives every release

The Field App is a Progressive Web App, not a website. Install it once on the pilot-car phone or tablet from /fieldapp and it loads instantly, even with no signal, because the shell and its JS/CSS chunks are cached on the device. The service worker is also self-healing: when the office ships a new RoadScope release, installed Field App users are not kicked off the cached shell. API traffic always passes through to live data, but the shell itself keeps working until the user is ready to update.

What's new:

  • Installable to home screen on iOS and Android via the standard PWA install flow
  • Cache-first for the shell and code chunks β€” opens instantly with no signal
  • All /api/* traffic passes through β€” live data when you have signal, queued when you don't
  • Self-healing service worker preserves the Field App cache across RoadScope version updates
RoadScopeWhat's Coming Β· in development

Ask the Data β€” natural-language queries across your entire route history

The next big swing for RoadScope is Ask the Data: a natural-language query engine layered on top of every survey, route, POI, and report in your workspace. Combined with the v16.1.102 auto-sync from MeasurePRO, this is the moment the office can ask "show me every bridge under 4.5 m on a Quebec corridor we surveyed in the last 12 months" and get an answer in seconds instead of opening 14 surveys by hand. Coming soon β€” not shipped yet.

What's new:

  • Natural-language queries over POIs, routes, surveys, and reports in your workspace
  • Pulls answers directly from your synced MeasurePRO data β€” no manual exports
  • Also in development: duplicate POI detection, anomaly detection on field captures, AI-powered per-POI risk scoring
  • No ship date yet β€” we will name a beta window when the answers are reliable enough to trust on a permit
ProfilingPROQuick Tip Β· Audio Watchdog in practice

Audio Watchdog: 6 alert types β€” eyes on the road, data to the ears

ProfilingPRO's Audio Watchdog turns six categories of recording health into audible cues so the driver never has to look at the tablet to know the run is good. Use it on long highway stretches where staring at the screen is exactly what you can't afford to do.

What's new:

  • Grade alarm β€” distinct tone when the live grade crosses your warning or critical threshold
  • RTK warning β€” different tone the moment the GNSS fix drops below RTK fixed
  • Connection alert β€” speaks up when the antenna or correction stream disconnects
  • Storage / battery β€” voice cue when storage or battery crosses the low-water mark
  • Recording start / stop confirmation β€” one-shot tone confirms the action actually took, even with the screen off
  • End-of-segment cue β€” short tone marks the end of each logged segment so you know the file rolled cleanly
SweptPROIn beta Β· Thacker Pass corridor

In beta β€” used live on the Thacker Pass corridor

SweptPRO is currently in beta and being used on the Thacker Pass corridor. The crew is running swept-path analysis from the cab on the same rugged tablet that ships with the MeasurePRO kit. The differentiator is the same as it was at prototype: drone shot to turning-radius check on-site, without waiting for the office. Public beta still on track for fall.

LoadPROIn development

In development β€” axle-load calculator for the whole team

LoadPRO continues to build. The product premise hasn't changed: an axle-load calculator any employee can run β€” office, field, or cab β€” with the equipment library built directly from your CAD drawings so the math mirrors your real fleet, not a generic one. We'll announce the closed-beta window in The Weekly when it's real.

Quick Tip of the Week

RoadScope Pairing Code workflow β€” link a MeasurePRO device in under a minute

Open the survey in RoadScope β†’ Collaborative Survey panel β†’ "Generate Pairing Code." A 7-day RS-XXXXXX code appears. On the MeasurePRO device, paste the code into the RoadScope Sync screen and the device is linked to that survey β€” POIs flow back automatically from that point on. Codes auto-expire after 7 days, can be revoked instantly from the panel, and the panel shows last-sync time and parts-uploaded count so the office always knows the link is healthy.

On the Bench β€” RoadScope Β· next 30 days

  • SoonClearance violations pinned directly on the route map β€” click a violation in the panel and jump straight to the offending segment
  • SoonRegion overlays on the map β€” colored groupings so you can see at a glance which POIs belong to which province or state
  • SoonPer-project grade thresholds β€” set your own warning and critical % per corridor instead of using global defaults

Heads-down on BreakBulk Europe prep and post-Thacker Pass follow-ups. If you'll be on the floor in Rotterdam in June, find me β€” happy to demo the v16.1.102 sync live.

This Week's Lead

17,000 POIs. 4,700 km. 6.5 days. One crew.

The Thacker Pass dual-lane survey just wrapped. A single SolTec crew captured 530 bridges, 3,631 culverts, and 299 intersections across the full 4,700 km corridor β€” 720 km of survey-grade data per day, every day. Inside this issue: the Field Capture App that just shipped for pilot-car crews, ProfilingPRO graduating to beta after 2,500 km of field validation, where SweptPRO and LoadPRO are in the build β€” and how Convoy Guardian kept the whole convoy in sync without a single bar of cell signal.

  2. 02RoadScope ships the Field Capture App
  3. 03What's new: MeasurePRO, LoadPRO, SweptPRO, Convoy Guardian, ProfilingPRO

  5. 05On the Bench: 3 RoadScope features in the next 30 days
RoadScopeField Capture App β€” Week of May 7, 2026

Field Capture App is live at /fieldapp β€” built for the pilot car, not the desk

Pilot-car crews told us the same thing every survey: the regular mobile map is too dense to use while driving. The Field Capture App strips it back to one screen of huge, high-contrast buttons wired to a physical touch pole on the front bumper, so a single bump on a low wire or a tight curb is captured as a geo-tagged POI in under a second. Captures push back to the survey in real time, so the planner at the office sees the route fill in as the truck drives it.

What's new:

  • New driving-mode capture screen at /fieldapp with phone-sized, glove-friendly controls (no navigation UI, no voice β€” capture only)
  • Critical Turns can now be split into named sections in the PDF (e.g. "Day 1 β€” Northbound", "Restricted clearance corridor") with drag-and-drop between groups
  • Table of Occurrences now supports native spell-check and Cmd/Ctrl + B for bold inside cells, with proper Undo/Redo
  • Polish: shared-map menus no longer slip behind the map on mobile; long-route exports get an extended timeout so big surveys finish cleanly
MeasurePROv16.1.101 Β· April–May 2026

17,000 POIs. 6.5 days. One app.

The Thacker Pass survey proved it: 4,700+ km, 17,000+ data points, 530 bridges, 3,631 culverts, 299 intersections β€” captured by a single crew in 6.5 days. That's 720+ km per day. MeasurePRO doesn't slow you down. It keeps up.

What's new:

  • Live Support β€” RoadScope admins see your screen via WebRTC. Troubleshooting happens now, not after the job.
  • POI Safety Badges β€” tag Danger, Work Required, or Information in the field. Office filters by risk; critical items surface first.
  • 7-day free trial β€” install, launch, survey. No codes, no accounts.
  • Offline license β€” no internet? No problem. LicensePRO keys work anywhere, anytime.
  • Emergency Cache Clear β€” one button in Settings. Fixes sync issues without reinstalling.

Action Required

Update to MeasurePRO 16.1.101 β€” read this before you install

If MeasurePRO has been feeling sluggish or unresponsive on your PC, this is the fix. Two leftover folders from older versions cause the issue, and Windows Uninstall doesn't remove them β€” so simply installing on top will not solve it. Follow these steps in order:

  1. Uninstall the version of MeasurePRO currently on your PC (Windows Settings β†’ Apps β†’ MeasurePRO β†’ Uninstall).
  2. Manually delete these two folders (the uninstaller leaves them behind, and they are what cause the freezing):
    • C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\measurepro-desktop-updater
    • C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\measurepro-desktop
  3. Download & install the latest installer. After install, you're good to go.

You can also try the in-app update β€” but the two folders above must still be deleted manually first, otherwise the update won't fix the freezing.

LoadPROIn development Β· ~35% complete

The axle-load calculator your whole team can actually use

LoadPRO is the next addition to the SolTec stack: an axle-load calculator built so any employee can run a configuration β€” from the office, from the field, even from the cab of the truck. Build your equipment library directly from CAD drawings, run a load distribution in seconds, and stop bottlenecking permits behind a single specialist.

What's new:

  • ~35% of the codebase complete
  • First closed beta is a few weeks away
  • Equipment import from CAD drawings is the cornerstone β€” we want your library to mirror your real fleet, not a generic one
SweptPROEarly prototype Β· public beta this fall

Run swept-path analysis from the cab β€” drone shot to turning radius in minutes

SweptPRO's early prototype was used in the field during the Thacker Pass survey. It's not done yet β€” there's real work left before public beta this fall β€” but the differentiator is already clear. SweptPRO runs on the rugged tablet that ships with the MeasurePRO kit, which means a tight intersection can be drone-shot, imported, and turning-radius checked on-site, without waiting for the office.

What's new:

  • Early prototype tested live on the Thacker Pass corridor
  • Public beta planned for fall 2026
  • Built to run on the same rugged tablet your crew already uses for MeasurePRO β€” no second device, no second account
Convoy GuardianField-tested at Thacker Pass

No cell. No internet. Just a 10–20 km private mesh keeping the convoy in sync.

Dual-lane escort. A 20-foot-wide, 14'5"-tall load rolling through 37 railroad crossings and 43 traffic lights. Convoy Guardian doesn't depend on cell coverage or internet β€” every module runs on a private mesh network with reach of 10–20 km between vehicles. The lead escort measures, the fleet sees the same numbers in real time. No radio chatter. No silent failures. No surprises.

What's new:

  • Private mesh, no infrastructure β€” works in dead zones, work sites, mountain passes; 10–20 km between vehicles
  • Auto-triggered alerts β€” when the lead system raises a warning or critical alert, every driver hears it instantly. Nothing to push, nothing to miss.
  • One-button emergency stop β€” any module can trigger it. Sound + visual strobe on every device leaves no room for "I didn't see it."
  • QR code join β€” scan, connect, roll. New escorts onboard in seconds.
  • Black box logging β€” every event, every alert, every stop exported to CSV for audits
ProfilingPROv1.3.0 Β· public beta in ~2 weeks

2,500 km of field testing. Beta drops in two weeks.

ProfilingPRO logged 2,500 km on the Thacker Pass corridor β€” across vertical curves, steep grades, long-haul stretches, weather changes β€” and held up. v1.3.0 nailed the one thing that mattered most: zero-freeze recording. Record for hours, no crashes, no lost data. The public beta is rolling out in about two weeks β€” download link and install instructions will land in your inbox the moment it's ready.

What's new:

  • Zero-freeze recording β€” critical performance overhaul. Long sessions just work.
  • Wind blade & cargo scraping detection β€” convex and concave curvature risk flagged in real-time
  • Audio watchdog β€” grade alarms, RTK warnings, connection alerts. Eyes on the road, ears on the data.
  • Live map on the GNSS dashboard β€” real-time position and recorded track, with grade-colored route overlay
  • Color-coded elevation profiles β€” 0% to 14%+ in distinct bands. Steep grades scream at you.

Quick Tip of the Week

Tag it in the field. Filter it in the office. Fix it before the load moves.

On the Thacker Pass survey, 17,000+ POIs were recorded in 6.5 days. Imagine sorting that manually. Instead: tag critical points as Danger or Work Required using MeasurePRO's badge system. When RoadScope syncs, your office filters by badge β€” Danger zones get eyes first, Work Required goes to maintenance, Information stays as context. Three taps per POI. Zero hours sorting.

On the Bench β€” RoadScope Β· next 30 days

  • SoonClearance violations pinned on the map β€” click a violation in the panel and jump straight to the offending segment
  • SoonRegion overlays on the map β€” colored groupings so you can see at a glance which POIs belong to which province or state
  • SoonPer-project grade thresholds β€” set your own warning and critical % per corridor instead of using global defaults

Just back from the Thacker Pass dual-lane survey. Now heads-down on prep for BreakBulk Europe in June β€” if you'll be there, find me on the floor.

Release History

Versioned changelog of platform updates and new features.

v2.7.1September 2026

No-Install 360Β° Video Import

360Β° Street View

  • Import 360Β° video with nothing to install: export the 360 video from Insta360 Studio (the free app that comes with the camera) and drag it into RoadScope β€” three steps: pick files, confirm, watch the progress
  • GPS straight from the camera: drop the original _00_.insv file next to the exported video and RoadScope reads the GPS track from it β€” no separate GPX file needed (GPX and manual route timing still available)
  • Browser uploads now accept videos up to 16 GB each with automatic resume; when a file is too big the wizard tells you to split the recording in Insta360 Studio
  • Dropping raw .insv files alone no longer blocks the import β€” the wizard shows the exact Insta360 Studio export clicks with an illustration and lets you add the exported video
  • Camera Bridge (the optional Windows service) is now an advanced power-user tool for platform administrators only; customers never see it, and its documentation moved under an Advanced section
v2.7.0August 2026

Report Completeness Pre-Check, Constraint Verdicts, Derived Route Insights & AI-Ready Reports

Report Quality

  • Data-completeness pre-check before every report: RoadScope audits your survey against the requirements of the selected report type and shows exactly which measurements, photos, or details are missing β€” before you generate, not after
  • Universal constraint verdicts: every restriction POI now carries a pass / marginal / fail verdict against your load dimensions β€” height, width, and weight β€” shown as badges throughout reports
  • Governing-constraints table: each report summarizes the tightest constraints along the route so the deciding structure for your load is never buried in the detail pages

Richer Report Data

  • Span length and route chainage now appear in reports for span-type POIs (road closures, narrow roads, narrow bridges), so crews know exactly how long each constrained section runs and where it starts along the route
  • Structured curfew schedules: travel-restriction windows attached to a POI render as a clean day-by-day schedule table in reports instead of free-form notes

Derived Route Insights

  • RoadScope now derives higher-level findings from your survey data: consecutive-turn clusters, steep-grade sequences, and obstacle-density hotspots are called out as named insights in reports
  • Inspection summaries: per-type aggregates of your field inspections (counts, worst findings, outstanding items) roll up into a dedicated report section
  • Every derived insight is traced to the underlying POIs and measurements that produced it β€” nothing is inferred without evidence

AI-Ready Reports & Exports

  • Every generated report and export can now carry an "Ask this survey with your AI" door β€” a QR code and link that connect the survey to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot
  • AI access is scoped to a single survey, read-only, and revocable at any time from your profile

Reliability

  • Smarter service-status banner: the degraded-services banner now appears only for issues that actually affect you, and clears itself automatically once the affected service recovers
v2.6.0August 2026

AI Report Studio, Max Load Assistant, RI Dimension Filtering & 14-Day Free Trial

AI Report Studio

  • Custom report template ingestion: upload your own PDF, DOCX, or HTML template and RoadScope maps its sections deterministically to your survey content β€” unresolved sections are flagged, never guessed
  • Post-generation revision chat: refine a generated draft conversationally, with a structured changelog of every edit and override
  • 7-check pre-publish quality gate: taxonomy, coverage, styling, and clearance-verdict checks audit the exact rendered report before it can be published, with justified overrides when needed

Route Intelligence

  • Height/width dimension filters classify every finding as Match, Excluded, or Unknown β€” excluded structures are blocked from POI creation, exports, and reports
  • Normalized Height (m) and Width (m) columns in Excel exports and POI report rows, plus dimension chips on review rows
  • Map-area scan mode: scan a drawn area of the map instead of a route, with a results map preview and hover sync
  • Your last-used dimension filter is remembered across Route Intelligence and POI Discovery sessions, with a visible reset back to All findings

Map Tools

  • Max Load AI assistant launched from the map tool palette β€” analyzes maximum load envelopes against your survey data, with every proposed action reviewed before it runs
  • Drawing Eraser: click-to-erase drawn shapes, layer strokes, and labels with widened hit targets, plus a one-click Undo toast that restores accidental deletions
  • Combined span POI types: place Road Closure, Narrow Road, and Narrow Bridge POIs with a two-click start/end span rendered along the route

Shared Map & Collaboration

  • Shared-map Envelope tab now syncs with the header load height: clearance cards filter to matching structures and recompute pass/fail against the survey minimum clearance
  • Cross-scenario POI suggestions: RoadScope surfaces POIs from overlapping corridors in other studies with a review inbox, map preview, and bulk accept/dismiss
  • Staged map-load progress indicator with per-stage retry, plus per-map stats badges and a Recent maps tab

Plans & Trials

  • New 14-day free trial: every new account starts with full access β€” no credit card required to begin (one trial per email and per device)
v2.5.0July 2026

SolTec Interactive HTML Report Suite Replaces PDF Reports

New Report Engine

  • Nine interactive single-file HTML reports generated from the Reports Hub: POI Photo Register, Rail Information, Width Report, Envelope Clearance, Clearance Profile, Province Report, Work Required, Survey Plan + Weather, and the multi-corridor Route Survey master report
  • Every report is fully self-contained (all photos, maps, and styles embedded) β€” works offline, from a shared link, and prints cleanly from the browser with correct pagination and page footers
  • Live load-dimension sliders: adjust load height and width in an open report and watch clearance verdicts (GO / NO-GO / serviceable) recompute instantly across every structure
  • Instant photo viewer with thumbnail-to-full-resolution swap, per-section navigation, and print-ready layouts

Removed

  • Legacy PDF report generation retired: the old PDF Reports Hub types, Turn-by-Turn PDF report, POI Report modal, Full Report Editor, Ontario TMP, Mapbook, and DTEQ report page have been removed
  • Previously generated report files and their share links remain available in the Files tab
v2.4.0July 2026

  • Project timeline view with milestone markers tied to survey phases and permit submission deadlines
  • Deliverable tracker: mark each required output (permits, surveys, reports, client deliverables) as pending, in review, or complete with owner assignment

Clearance Safety Tools

  • Overhead Clearance Cross-Check: enter your load envelope and RoadScope surfaces every POI along the route where the documented clearance falls within your safety threshold
  • Minimum-clearance Danger badges on POI rows and map markers β€” click any badge to jump to the POI and see its full measurement detail
  • Special Maneuver badges (wide swing, split escort, pilot car stop) with an overlay outline on the map so crews know exactly where the maneuver applies
  • Per-POI-type Maximum Envelope breakdown panel: see the tightest clearance across all Bridges, Utilities, or any other type at a glance

Turn Directions

  • Turn-direction capture in the Field App: log L / R / Straight / U-Turn at any intersection POI with a single tap
  • Turn-direction chips displayed on POI rows and map popups β€” colour-coded by direction for fast scanning in the office
  • Geometry-derived turn directions: RoadScope infers the turn direction from route geometry when no field value is recorded
  • CSV and Excel exports now include a Turn Direction column
  • Turn-by-Turn report updated with photo thumbnails per turn, per-segment route map images, and a route-overview map on the cover page

Routes & Exports

  • POI–Route association: assign any POI to one or more routes; combined POI+route filtering in the sidebar for precise scope control
  • Route drag-to-reorder: re-sequence routes in the sidebar without opening the route editor
  • Auto-Assign POIs to the nearest route β€” with a preview of which POIs would move before you commit
  • Merge Routes: combine two or more route segments into one continuous route with automatic waypoint reconciliation
  • Archive / delete POIs over a height threshold: bulk-remove planning-phase clearances that no longer apply after field verification
  • All 71 MeasurePRO POI types now mapped to the RoadScope type system for automatic import classification
  • Excel export with embedded images: each POI row can include a thumbnail of the primary photo inline in the spreadsheet cell
  • Linkable POI images: every photo now has a stable public URL suitable for embedding in third-party reports and permit packages

  • Credit system retained for advanced unlocks (full POI detail, bulk exports, premium data tiers); free baseline covers bridge overlays and clearance screening for all plan levels

Shared Map & Client Delivery

  • Advanced POI filter on the shared map: filter chips, saved filter presets, and dimension range sliders (height / width / weight) so clients can focus on exactly the constraints relevant to their load
  • Header height-clearance filter: a prominent banner input on the shared map lets the recipient set their load height and immediately highlight every clearance conflict
  • Photo thumbnails in POI popups on the shared map β€” no longer icon-only for photo-rich surveys
  • Route color swatches in the shared map sidebar so multi-route projects are readable at a glance
  • Key Findings & Notes editorial overlay: add a structured highlight panel to the shared map for the most important constraints, route decisions, or surveyor notes
